About Denine

I’m the proud mom of three children: one Jeffco graduate, a current 9th grader, and a toddler in the class of 2040.
As a lifelong educator, I’ve served as a classified employee, elementary teacher, district coordinator, and instructional coach. I have also worked as a “gifted and talented” coordinator, supported bilingual instruction, and co-taught in special education classrooms.
Beyond education, I’ve been a single mom and now share life with my amazing husband. I’ve been a small business owner, and currently serve as a nonprofit operations coordinator, bringing practical leadership and problem-solving skills to my work.
I know student success comes from honoring staff, partnering with parents, and engaging the community. With decades of experience, I am committed to ensuring that Jeffco delivers high-quality opportunities today and for generations to come.
My Priorities for JeffCo Schools

Safe Schools
Our schools and facilities must be safe places for students, staff, and the community. I will prioritize investments that ensure a safe learning environment.
Honoring Staff
As an educator, I know firsthand that teachers need the time and support to meet students’ needs. I will use my experience to elevate the voices of all staff.
Partnering with Parents
As a mom, I know parents are children’s first teachers. I will work to ensure parents are engaged as true partners in education.
Engaging Community
Having lived through our neighborhood school closure, I know trust comes from transparency and accountability. I will actively engage our community in decision-making.
Fiscal Responsibility
With funding challenges, we must focus resources on what works for students while supporting staff. My experience managing budgets has prepared me to meet critical goals.
Student-Focused, High-Quality Opportunities
Every child learns differently. I will advocate for strong, accessible pathways that give all students the opportunity to succeed.
